摘要 :
Drug delivery using lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) have evolved throughout the last few decades as there are many challenges to be overcome: in vivo stability, release mechanism, specific targeting, toxicity, feasibility for mass production, uniformity in size or size distribution, etc. Both chemical and physical endeavors have been pursued in improving the delivery platform. Our research group has developed a nanoparticulate platform – bicellar system, which shows low toxicity and high stability and cellular uptake, allows for entrapping both hydrophobic and hydrophilic species, can be easily manufactured into uniform size of < 50 nm particles and has the potential to conjugate targeting molecules for different diseases. In this presentation, I will explain the pathway how we develop and rationally design the bicellar LNPs to be a promising, high-efficiency theranostic delivering nanoparticulate system.
