2026 Outstanding Doctoral Student Award Funding Principles

I. Eligibility and Award Amounts

  1. Students who complete a seven-year integrated program from a bachelor's degree to a doctoral degree will receive an incentive award of NT$200,000.
  2. Students who complete an eight-year integrated program from a bachelor's degree through a master's degree to a doctoral degree will receive an incentive award of NT$100,000.
  3. Doctoral students who, by the end of their sixth semester of doctoral study, publish a paper as the first author or corresponding author in a journal ranked in the top 25% of its subject category in their field may apply for an incentive award of NT$6,000.

**For students entering their fourth year of doctoral study in the 2026 academic year: The eligibility criteria have currently been relaxed, and applications may be submitted before the start of the fall semester in September. Please take advantage of this opportunity!

II. Important Information Regarding the Journal Publication Incentive Grant

  1. Although the regulations state that applications should be submitted "within one month after the paper is published," due to the late approval of the funding, eligible papers published on or after January 1, 2026 may be submitted for the incentive grant.
  2. Please note: "Paper publication" does not mean "paper acceptance." Please apply only after the paper has been officially published by the journal, either in print or online (e.g., "Online Available" or "Published Online").
  3. Please prepare the following documents and submit them to Ms. Lai at the Department Office (Ext. 62611):
    • Application Form
    • Paper Cover Page (Please use a highlighter to indicate that the applicant is the first author or corresponding author, as well as the publication date.)
    • Journal Ranking Verification: The journal ranking may be verified through the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) website. Please highlight the relevant ranking information.
    • Applicants are also required to complete both of the following online forms:
  4. The funding allocated for the first half of the year has already been exhausted. Additional funding has now been provided; however, applications will close once the available funds have been fully disbursed. Please apply as soon as possible!
